Highlights

The July issue of “Plástico industrial” is online. The edition highlights the research and directory for “Injection molding converters”, on page 20, a survey carried out with companies that convert thermoplastics by injection, which included some questions this year related to how they are dealing with the changes imposed by the Covid-19 outbreak. See on page 42 the article “Microinjection of bioplastics containing blowing agent”, showing that the incorporation of gas in the molten resin improves its fluidity in injection molding, allowing the flow path to be extended and the processing temperature reduced. This allows working with thermally sensitive resins, such as polylactides. Read on page 50, in the special chapter “O plástico na embalagem” (plastics application in the packaging industry), the news “Growlers PET: bringing special beer to consumers in isolation”, about the increase in the use of larger capacity containers for special beers, known as growlers, or demijohns, which simplified logistics for consumers in isolation. This issue brings also the update “Plastics welding machines” and “Polyurethane (PU)” buyers’ guides.
