Highlights

The April issue of “Plástico Industrial” is online. The article “How to promote the orientation of the loads during the injection”, on page 18, shows how to change the anisotropic properties of injection molded plastics in order to allow the reduction of the fraction of thermally conductive charges in the formulation based on its reorientation. See on page 30 the news “Plastics consumption also increases in the manufacturing of products for pets”, showing that the market growth of products and services for pets has also opened up great opportunities for manufacturers of essential items for hygiene, health and beauty. Read on page 46, in the special chapter “O plástico na embalagem” (plastics application in the packaging industry), the news “Molecular modification material creates different versions of polyethylene”, where researchers from the University of Pittsburgh (USA) were awarded the International Circular Materials Challenge award from the Ellen MacArthur Foundation and the technological accelerator NineSigma, for suggesting the use of nanoengineering to formulate a material that can replace complex multi-layer packaging. This issue brings also the new “PVC raw materials supplies" and “Color measurement systems” buyers’ guides and the updated “Extrusion companies’ directory”.
