Highlights

The April issue of "Eletricidade Moderna" is online. The article “Distributed Generation Connection to the Distribution System”, on page 22, discusses one of the criteria used by EDP to minimize the voltage disturbances due to the intermittence of the power injection by the generation in the distribution system: the amount of power injected vis-à-vis the short-circuit power at the point of connection. See on page 30 the article “Ground-phase faults in grounded LV circuits via high impedance”, showing that ground systems in LV via high-ohmic resistors are normally applied in industrial electrical installations due to their recognized performance in increasing personal safety in works with electricity. Furthermore, on page 40, the article “Installation of demonstration and testing of distribution in CC”, which describes the testing plant of a Korean energy company. This issue also brings the news “MV switchgear & controlgear", “Reclosers” buyer's guides and “IR thermography service companies” directory.
