Highlights
The September issue of “Eletricidade Moderna” is online. The highlights goes to the special coverage “Electricity Award’2017”, a survey ranking Brazilian utilities based on their technical and management performance, on page 30, and to the preview of “24th SNPTEE - National Seminar on Production and Transmission of Electric Power” (Curitiba, October, 22nd to 25th), on page 40, one of the biggest technical events in the electrical sector that once again holds the debate on the major issues. See on page 20 the article “Concrete encased grounding electrodes”, which analyzes installation requirements according to the grounding scheme. It shows that in TN systems the electrode does not perform shock protection functions as in TT systems. Read on page 52 the article “Tests and inspections on aerial buckets and cranes with buckets” showing that, in order to prevent accidents with hoisting equipment for lifting people and working at heights, the Annex XII of Regulatory Standard Nº 12 (NR 12) was published, establishing requirements for design and manufacturing of this kind of equipment.This issue brings also the updated “Power management products and systems” buyers’ guide.
