Highlights

The November issue No. 86 of “FotoVolt” is online. Check it out on page 24 the article "The New Era of the Brazilian Electrical System", showing that the decline in hydroelectric participation and the accelerated advancement of solar generation is imposing operational challenges and demanding new solutions. Grid-forming inverters, microgrids, and zero-grid systems emerge as emergency alternatives to ensure system flexibility. Read on page 32 the article "Distributed Energy Generation Without Injection into the Grid", which shows that, given the difficulties in connecting photovoltaic systems to electrical grids in locations with a risk of overload or reverse flow, as well as the impossibility of free consumers participating in the compensation system, a solution may be the zero-grid system, along with installation precautions, regulatory requirements, and real-world case studies. Furthermore, on page 38, the report "South Confirms Expansion Potential of the Solar Market", about the Intersolar Summit Brazil South 2025, held in Porto Alegre, RS, which confirmed the dynamism of the photovoltaic segment in the region. Experts debated challenges and opportunities in distributed generation, storage, green hydrogen, and agrivoltaics systems, while the fair presented innovations and technologies in the sector. This issue also brings the new “DC Disconnect Switch” and the update “Solarimetric Data Certification Companies for Photovoltaic Power Plants” buyers’ guides.
