The May issue of FotoVolt is online. The highlight of edition is the preview of "Intersolar South America 2018" (São Paulo, August 22^nd to 24^th), on page 12, anticipating the news of the congress and the fair of the main event of the sector of solar generation in Latin America, in the expectation that this year the photovoltaic source reaches 2 GW in projects in Brazil. See on page 20 the article "Shock safety in photovoltaic solar generators", showing that since the high voltages of photovoltaic generators present a danger for maintenance personnel as well as for firefighters in case of fire, the power optimizers installed in each PV module are one of the available solutions. Furthermore, on page 30, the article "Single-phase inverter connection to the grid via the LCL filter", which shows that in order to meet the requirements of the operators of the distribution system, the connection of a photovoltaic system to the grid was projected through an LCL filter, which, however, demands strategies to maintain stability at the coupling point. This issue brings also the updated “PV mounting structures” and “Bidirectional PV net energy meters” buyers’ guides.
