Highlights

The October issue of “FotoVolt” is online. The reportage “The advance of the photovoltaic solar sector in Brazil”, on page 64, shows that, in a context of climate uncertainty, reducing the role of hydroelectric plants and increasing the share of solar, wind and biomass plants brings operational resilience. The distributed solar generation can reach 25 GW installed in 2026 and centralized solar more than 14 GW in 2027, with a strong share in the free energy market. See on page 40 the article “Impact of total solar eclipses on PV energy production”, presenting results of modeling and quantification of energy production and losses. Blocking the sun's rays by the Moon has a considerable effect on the electrical generation of photovoltaic systems, which may compromise the stability of electrical networks. Furthermore, on page 48, the coverage “Intersolar South America breaks an audience record”, showing that Intersolar South America 2022, the largest fair and congress for the solar sector in Latin America, brought together approximately 44,000 visitors, exceeding the audience of previous edition by more than 60%. In addition to the launches published in issue nº 50 of Fotovolt, other products and solutions presented there are highlighted. This issue also brings the update “Pile driver for solar plants”, “Cleaning machines & services for PV plants” and “Software for power management” buyers’ guides.
