The January/February issue of “Eletricidade Moderna” is online. The edition highlights the annual “Quality Award 2021”, on page 22, a survey that points out the brands of products and equipment for electrical and lighting installations considered to be of higher quality by the specialized public and their evolution over time. See on page 40 the article “Permanent currents in protective conductors”, presenting a diagnosis of possible causes of relatively high currents in the protective conductor - even in fault-free operating conditions. Only in the event of a ground fault are high currents of short duration, which should promote the action of protective devices.. Furthermore, on page 48, the article “Demystifying the arrester with ionization device”, where the author defends the superiority of ionizing arrester, presenting research results. How more efficient the interception of lightning descending leader, more secure protected area will be. This issue brings also the update “Generator sets” and “Wires, cables, connectors and accessories” buyers’ guides.
