The November/December issue of “Eletricidade Moderna” is online. The edition highlights the “2020 Electrical Products Top Sellers”, on page 20, a survey that points out the best-selling brands of dozens of electrical and lighting installation products at electrical equipment dealers in Brazil, and also their evolution from 2019 to 2020. It is an important reference for the industry, consumers and the resale channel itself. See on page 35 the article “Protection of cables against fire”, showing that, according to the norms, electrical cables of security services must preserve the functional integrity in case of fire, during a certain time. Similarly, escape and rescue routes must remain in operational condition. But the technical requirements for installation, their implementation and verification need to be clear. Furthermore, on page 58, the article “Implementation of OPDC cable below phase conductors in LTs”, presenting the design of the optical distribution cable (OPDC) as a good option for robust communication links between substations in polluted environments and which, as in Brazil, face the problem of kite lines, which cause dielectric and self-sustaining cables to rupture.
