Highlights

The April/May issue of “Plástico Industrial” is online. The article “Biopolymers durability. A bioplastics properties database”, on page 20, shows that information on bioplastics durability is being compiled as part of a European project involving research institutes and more than 50 industrial partners. See on page 28 the article “PVC additives compatibility – Part 2 – slip agents”, second part of the work on the additives compatibility with PVC formulations deals with sliding agents, or lubricants, which reduce the shear rate during material processing. Furthermore, in the special chapter “O Plástico na Embalagem” (Plastics applications in the package industry), the news “Research pointed to an increase in the consumption of flexible packaging in 2023”, based on a study requested by Abief – Brazilian Association of the Flexible Plastic Packaging Industry (São Paulo, SP) from MaxiQuim (Porto Alegre, RS).  This issue also brings the update “Bioplastics”, “Compounds”, “Grinder knives and sharpening services” and “Injection molding machines” buyers’ guides.
