The January issue of “Plástico industrial” is online. The article “Digital trends in injection molding”, on page 18, shows that the mold filling simulation integrated into the machine control system symbolizes the main interface between injection molding technology and digitization. Other digital solutions have long been established or expanding. See on page 30 the article “Reconfiguration of the plasticizer units reduces the consumption of electrical energy”, showing that a heating system integrating the components of the cannon can reduce up to 55% the electrical energy consumption of the transforming machines. Read on page 44, in the special chapter “O Plástico na Embalagem” (plastics application in the package industry), the news “Additive promotes the preservation of drugs”, on the development of an additive masterbatch that, added to PET resin, acts as a limiter of degradation by the action of oxygen in medicines and nutraceuticals stored in bottles molded with this material.
