Highlights

The March issue of “Plástico Industrial” is online. The article “Thermoforming flexible molds : a quick set up for small batches production”, on page 22, shows that a pin arrangement with adjustable heights gave rise to a fully configurable thermoforming tool, which allows defining support points for numerous contours, leading to shorter adjustment times. See on page 30 the article “Pretreatment expands applications of recycled polyamide (PA)”, showing that researchers have managed, by means of reactive extrusion, to increase the molecular weight of recycled polyamide, making its thermoforming processing viable. Read on page 46, in the special chapter “O Plástico na Embalagem” (Plastics applications in the package industry), the news “Escalation of coronavirus has repercussions in the blown packaging market, where it is shown that the pandemic of Covid-19, a disease transmitted by the coronavirus, has made manufacturers of products aimed at the area of hygiene and health work much more, as a company that it closed the month of February with a demand five times higher than its historical average, and had to optimize the use of its productive resources to meet it. This issue brings also the new “In Mold Labeling (IML)” and the update “Robots”, “Blow molding machines” and “Compounds suppliers” buyers’ guides.
