The July/August issue of “Eletricidade Moderna” is online. The article “Lighting for escape routes”, on page 24, shows that, on a daily basis, emergency and safety lighting installations rarely come into operation, but in case of defects and in crisis situations they are essential: they must allow the rapid abandonment of the building or risk area and the safely deactivating dangerous processes. See on page 46 the article “Operational problems involving IEC 61850”, addressing operational problems with the IEC 61850 standard and reporting experiments evaluating synchronization between equipment, message limits and performance of communication protocols. Furthermore, on page 58, the article “Energy and maintenance requirements versus the Brazilian reality”, which addresses the care necessary for the safe functioning of pulmonary ventilators, which are essential for the survival of patients with Covid-19, but which require electrical installations in accordance with energy standards and good quality food.
