Highlights

The December/January issue of “Plástico Industrial” is online. The article “Increases the use of recycled resins in the electronics production”, on page 18, shows that electronics manufacturers intend to reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with the manufacture of their products. One way to achieve this is the use of recycled materials with assured quality, in addition to designing devices that can be easily recycled after use. See on page 34 the article “Masterbatches with luminescent pigments helping plastic waste sorting”, showing that the application of digital watermarks to products can be useful for the purposes of tracking and organizing the sorting of plastic waste destined for recycling and revaluation processes. Read on page 44, in the special chapter “O Plástico na Embalagem” (Plastics applications in the package industry), the news “Plastic films. More protection with less material”, about a protective films manufacturer that has developed a new technology to obtain products that are more resistant to high temperatures, with lower water and vapor permeability, using up to 50% less raw material in production. This issue also brings the update “Additives and fillers”, “Extruders”, “Chillers”, “Ultrasonic welding machines” and “Dryers” buyers’ guides.
