The September issue of “FotoVolt” is online. The article “Active and passive detection of islanding in a photovoltaic system”, on page 26, presents an analysis of active and hybrid methods of islanding detection in a solar system. The detection of islands and disconnections of low power systems from the network is increasingly important for safety reasons, as well as the need to de-energize the lines for maintenance. See on page 40 the article “The promises and difficulties of module recycling in Brazil”, showing that the local market for logistics and reverse manufacturing of photovoltaic solar energy products is starting to take its first steps, supported by the value of recoverable material and betting on the enormous future demand. But adjustments are needed to adequately meet the needs of the sector. Furthermore, on page 48, the article “District battery for optimized use of photovoltaic energy”, where it is shown that to obtain a better use of PV energy generated in a planned residential area, two energy storage concepts are compared: a community one, serving a set of residences , and another based on individual batteries for each house. This issue brings also the update “Prefabricated substations”, “Solar tracking systems” and “Solar Carports” buyers’ guides.
