The September issue of “FotoVolt” is online. The highlight goes to the “5th Intersolar South America” (São Paulo, August, 22-24), covering a fair that gathered about 220 exhibitors and attracted more than 12 thousand visitors, among installers, integrators, distributors, entrepreneurs, architects, investors, electrical professionals, etc. At the congress, over 1,500 experts discussed market opportunities and business models, as well as the outlook for centralized and distributed generation, public policies, innovations and financing, etc. See on page 10 the article “Emergency shutdown of PV generators”, about safety requirements based on technical standards, tests and field surveys. Read on page 36 the article “Storage of energy by DC direct coupling”, showing that, when DC power produced by PV generators is stored directly into a battery bank, conversion losses and the inverter cost are eliminated. This issue brings also the updated ”PV modules” and “Batteries” buyers’ guides.
