Highlights

The April issue of RTI is online now!. "CPVC piping and fittings", highlighted on page 10, have been increasing market share. Based on experience, CPVC can last for at least 50 years, or twice as much as metal pipes. On page 22, the article "Micromeasurement: the importance of testing and dimensioning" depicts how micromeasurement can help with problems such as the reduction of apparent water losses caused by wear of the hydrometer, poor quality and lack of testing to verify its efficiency, which is one of the major concerns of sanitation companies. And on page 26, the article "Resistance of polyethylene to chlorinated disinfectants" reports that polyethylene pipes can have a life span of 70 to 100 years, which contributes to the reduction of water losses in supply networks. Also in this issue the updated "Membranes & integrators" and "Instruments & meters" buyers’ guides.
