Highlights

The November/December issue of “FotoVolt” is online. The article “Solving problems caused by connecting distributed generators”, on page 28, shows that disturbances arising from the connection of generators to the distribution network are, in many cases, sporadic or obscure and can result in random disconnection of the generator or in problems such as harmonic distortion, overheating or even shocks and fires. See on page 48 the article “PV generators on rooftops: a concept of triple protection”, a practical approach to design and execution, showing that external influences require safety criteria for people and property against the effects of lightning, overvoltage and fires. Furthermore, on page 52, the article “Fires in PV systems caused by design and execution defects”, reporting the investigation of the causes of fires in a photovoltaic system with 600 kW of inverter power, which occurred before connection to the grid. Provides a diagnosis of design and execution flaws and other errors, as well as proposing adjustments for the installation. This issue also brings the update “PV Modules “, “Energy storage systems” and “Electrical vehicles charging stations” buyers’ guides.
